Hossegor Surf House is an 18th century farmhouse which has been recently completely renovated, offering a mix of authenticity and originality. The lodge has two spacious one-to-four person bedrooms with wooden mezzanines, as well as a bungalow for couples. Maximum twenty people per week ! The heart of the Surfhouse is the 100 square meter great room. Its open space concept distributed around a central sculptured chimney invites comradeship and conversations amongst fellow surfing enthusiasts. You will start the day with a generous breakfast taken on the terrace or in the lounge and end it up around a good dinner prepared by your host with the best local ingredients, of international gourmet fame.

THE SURF


Surf Courses
Claire, Stephan and Gilles will teach you beginner, intermediate and advanced surfing techniques, along with ocean safety skills including surf rescue and first aid. You will learn how to read the ocean with a trained eye, handle rip currents and long shore currents, as well as how to time waves and the judgement skills needed for catching waves safely.
1h30 of intense practical classes including body surfing and warm up inspired by yoga postures.
Theory lessons are arranged twice a week for 45 minutes, either at the beach or at the camp.

Surf Spots
Hossegor is on the Silver Coast, extending over 200 kilometres of uninterrupted beaches bordered by sand dunes and forests. The quality and quantity of sand bars and beach breaks in the area has attracted surfers from across the world since the 60's. The swell generated in the the Northern Atlantic is steady and strong as it crashes against the sea bottom, which rises abruptly in front of the coast. You will find the best surf in France at the world class spots of Seignosse and Hossegor, venue of many surf contests such as the Quicksilver Pro and Rip Curl Pro.

THE LOCATION

The Surfhouse nestles amidst 4000 square meters of ancient oak trees and lies within walking distance from the Etang Blanc fresh water lake and nature reserve. It is also a ten minute drive from Hossegor nightlife and half an hour from the glitz and glamour of Biarritz, the cradle of surf in Europe. The Surfhouse lies in the heart of the Landes forest, the largest in France, bordered by 160 miles of uninterrupted beach and sand dunes know as the “Silver Coast”. Within a 60 minute drives lies the Pyrenees mountains and the Basque Country, extending across the border to Spain.
