Donveli Surf Resort Maldives

Dhonveli in Maldivian means crystal white sand...
This resort is a small island of its own, blessed with exotic tropical beauty and its unique, authentic Maldivian architecture blends seamlessly with the nature.
Dhonveli is an outstanding resort having some of the finest rooms, with the widest range of types and amenities.

Dhonveli Beach formerly known as Tari Village is one of the Worlds famous surfing resorts and the island has the privilege of hosting many world class surfing competitions.

Pasta Point, the region's most consistent break, is just a minute's walk from your room, and is exclusively reserved for Dhonveli's surfing guests. Other classic breaks - Sultans, Honky's and Jailbreak - are less than ten minutes away by boat. You can see the waves from Dhonveli, so you'll know when they're pumping. No matter what the conditions are, you're in the perfect spot.

The Amaan Spa offers a range of health and beauty treatments - for surfers we especially recommend the Sport Massage, to loosen tight muscles and relax the body and mind.

The Surf Season runs from mid February to November when swells are produced by winter low pressure systems in the southern Indian Ocean.
The early part of the season has the most stable weather, with light, favourable winds. Swell consistency and size improve from February, with March, April and May having very clean conditions.

June to August have the most potential for big swells (the WQS contest is held in June every year), although tropical storms can be more common in these months.

September and October are also very consistent months for swell, with variable winds and tropical storms becoming less frequent. November is still quite consistent for small to medium size waves and the weather is usually perfect.

THE MALDIVES

Geography - The Maldives is a chain of 26 coral atolls southwest of Sri Lanka, extending across the equator in a north-south strip 754km (468mi) long and 118km (73mi) wide. The 1192 low-lying coral islands are so small that dry land makes up less than 4% of the country's total territory. Some islands are uninhabited sandbars with a patch of scrub, while others are several kilometers across and quite well vegetated.

The Climate - of the Maldives is warm year round, determined by the monsoons. The temperature of Maldives ranges between 26°C/79F and 33°C/90F throughout the year. Although the humidity is relatively high, the constant sea breezes help to keep the air moving. Water temperatures remain about 26°C/80F year-round.
