One of the European surf camps which receives most swell in summer, Sagres/Carrapateira Surf Camp offers you the chance to enjoy beautiful beaches, trendy bars and a exciting nightlife. Accommodation is at two surfhouses; in the lively town of Sagres and at the quiter beachside location of Carrapateira. Surfschool for beginners, Surfaris for the experienced and accommodation only for the independent surfer. The clients and Staff are multicultural and many different languages are spoken (English, Spanish, German, Italian, etc.). Private parties are regularly organised at the two surfhouses, with Mexican or Brazilian food, barbecues, DJ’s and even Brazilian and belly dancers! Sagres’ coastline is a Peninsula that provides good surfing conditions on one of twenty different surf spots, regardless of the size of the swell or wind direction.

CARRAPATEIRA SURFHOUSE

A three floor house sleeping 30 persons in the lively village of Carrapateira, 20 km. north of Sagres. The Surfhouse lies next to Bordeira, one of Carrapateira’s two beaches - the other one is Praia do Amado, where surf lessons usually take place. The 2nd and 3rd floor host the bedrooms while downstairs are the large kitchen, spacious lounge with DVD’s, Play station, etc., private bar, DJ, Billiard, ping pong and large terrace where breakfast buffet is served. Shape Room where you can watch the different steps of shaping a board, and order your own custom made surfboard by bigwave rider "Billy Boy".

THE SURF

Surf School & Surfaris
The two surfhouses share the same school facilities and offers probably the best surf courses of all schools selected by Nomadsurfers. The teachers meet once a week with the school’s manager to discuss and prepare the courses (Techniques, new exercises, pedagogy, etc.). The camp specialises in competition training and adolescents, although most clients are older than 20 years old and total beginners. For experienced surfers who do not want to take classes, the Surfaris formula will take them on a guided tour to discover the best waves of the region.

Surf Spots
The south-western Algarve is a surfing destination unrivaled anywhere in Europe and unique in the way that it will give you a genuine taste of surfing lifestyle. Wave size and quality range from average to epic, with an assortment of reefs and beach breaks. The beauty of this corner of the world is due to the variety of its waves, which will suit everyone's standards, and their constancy throughout the year - good waves break year round. Waves break both on the Southern and Western coasts, always providing a surfing alternative according to the swell and within a maximum thirty minute drive. The surf itself is surrounded by wide and breathtaking scenery, with steep reddish cliffs, wide sandy beaches and no real estate developments or seaside resorts in sight. The whole area is protected and forms part of the natural park. The access to the beaches is by dirt tracks twisting through a spectacular scenery.
