ALGARVE kids & teens summer surf camps

Nomadsurfers run two special training camps for kids in Carrapateira, end of June - beginning of July and of one week duration each. We recommend to do both weeks for maximum progress. There is a maximum of 30 kids per week and camps are for boys and girls between 12 and 16. Courses are split into two levels: Level 1 for total beginners and intermediate surfers, who will learn the easiest way to surf and improve their technique, and Level 2 for advanced surfers and competition training. The staff is formed by qualified coaches who speak several languages and all the elements are combined to provide kids with professional, pleasurable and efficient training. This year, kids will be able to take an optional Spanish or English language courses, held at the end of the day.

CAMP

Accommodation is at Carrapateira Surf House, a three floor house in the small village of Carrapateira, 20 km. north of Sagres. This new house lies in front of Bordeira, one of Carrapateira’s two beaches - the other one is Praia do Amado, where surf lessons usually take place. The Second and third floor host the bedrooms while downstairs are the large kitchen, spacious lounge with over 200 DVD’s, PlayStation, Billiard, ping pong and large terrace where breakfast buffet is served. There is also a Shape Room where you can order your custom made surfboard and watch the different steps of shaping a surfboard by bigwave rider Billy Boy. The instructors live in the house. After surfing all day, kids have the option to take English or Spanish language courses, 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday, at the Surfhouse.

Kids are supervised 24 hours a day.
Minors need written authorisation from their parents or tutors.
The camp has accident insurance, although we recommend you to bring your own private travel insurance.
Only 30 kids per week.

We also rent apartments for parents who wish to spend a week in this beautiful Natural Park, close to their children.

LA ESCUELA

The staff is formed by qualified coaches who speak several languages. The Head Coach is Sergio Wu Brandao who has dedicated his life to surfing and has more than 10 years of experience in coaching kids and adults. He was the trainer of Gony Zubizarreta (see picture 1), Grommet World Champion 2002, and Marlon Lipke, Junior European Champion 2004 and 3rd in the world ranking 2004.

THE LOCATION

The Algarve
