With more than 20km of surrounding beaches, Oporto SurfCamp has the right conditions for all levels of surfing. From beach breaks for beginners to reef breaks for more advanced surfers, it has it all nearby. The most famous point break is Espinho, which is known for its long and barrelling right-hander and host of several European and world competitions.
Apart from the surf, Portuguese north coast is also popular for its gastronomy, wine making and night-time entertainment.

CAMP

Oporto SurfCamp is situated is a beach village called Granja, just 20 min train ride from Porto’s CBD.
The Surf House has two shared bedrooms (of 5 people), a cosy living room with cable TV, fast Internet access and a variety of DVDs to choose from. There is also a huge garden where one can camp.
The Surf House offers quality accommodation and a wicked garden where one can enjoy various activities like Yoga, painting, barbecues and a 24h animation.

THE SURF

Oporto SurfCamp (and SurfSchool) is for both young and adult people who want to learn or developed their surfing technique as a sport, culture and life-style. All instructors have the appropriate credentials (by Portuguese Surfing Federation) and a wide knowledge and experience in surfing on both pedagogical and competition levels. With over 20 years experience in surfing, Oporto SurfCamp´ instructors can advise/teach according with each student needs.

For the more experienced surfers, Oporto SurfCamp organizes Surfaris or Surf Trips to the best surf spots north Portugal has to offer. These Surfaris will be driven by a group of experienced surfers who will take you to the best spots in the region.

North Portugal has a very consistent swell all year round and it has waves for every level of surfing. Within a 20km coastline one can find many beach breaks, point breaks and reef breaks for the more adventurous surfers. All of this with no crowds!

THE LOCATION


Oporto is an European metropolis situated in the north of Portugal. In 1996 UNESCO Foundation elected it world heritage and, in 2001, European Capital of Culture.

Oporto SurfCamp is just 12 km south of Porto; 100m from Granja’s train station and 300m from the beach. That means that Oporto SurfCamp is a central place and, therefore, easy to find.

Climate
North Portugal is under the Atlantic influence with mild winters (14ºC) and warm summers (25ºC). The water temperature varies between 15C and 19C.
