GALICIA kids & teens summer surf camps

The surfcamp is located on Razo Beach, near La Coruña on the north western tip of Spain. A beautiful 7 km. long sandy beach, Razo boasts the EU “Blue flag” with no crowds, no localism, and very good vibes in the water. This is one of the camps that receives most swell in summer of all European surfcamps, providing the perfect conditions for both eginners who wants to initiate themselves to surf or accomplished surfers who want improve. Monitors with a large experience and with official titles from the Galician Surf Federation. The Surf House accommodates 40 campers and enjoys an exceptional location 20 m. from the beach on the side of a hill, with panoramic vistas to the sea. Barbecues, concerts and fiestas are regularly organised during the season and extra activities at the camp include racquet, beach volley, football, ping pong, bodytonic and yoga.

THE CAMP


The Surf House is located only 20 metres from the beach on the side of a hill, with panoramic vistas to the sea. The house accommodates fourty campers at a time in rooms with two bunk beds each and seaviews. Additionally, there are two bathrooms, a lounge and a dining room, while outside there is a large terrace and garden where the barbecues and summer fiestas take place. After the surf sessions, campers can also enjoy extra actvities such as raquet, beach volley, football, ping pong, bodytonic and even yoga.

THE SURF


Surf School
The Surf School is as well a philosophy of life and a passion for its monitors. All have a good knowledge of local conditions, a large experience in surf and teaching, and official titles from the Galician Surf Federation. Several of them are holder of championship titles and run in the regional and national surf tours.
The Surf Courses are distributed to fit all ages and surf levels, with the aim to teach participants adequately all the necessary steps to learn or improve their surf. Surf classes take places on Razo while theory classes are held at the school installations and include video-analysis.

Surf Spots
7 Kilometres sandy beach where there is no corner without waves. The best waves are in front of the camp. There’s a rocky base for the most daring with a short wave but with a potent takeoff and a tube at the start. The rest of the beach are sand breaks, left and right, with soft switches and each day breaking in a different way. The beach at low tide is approx 400 metres from the shoreline to the dunes and grass borders. Other spots in the area include Malpica, a couple of miles down the coast.

THE LOCATION


Razo Beach, Galicia
Near La Coruña, on the north western tip of Spain, Razo Beach is a beautiful 7 km. long sandy beach boasting the EU “Blue flag”. While in the area, it is well worth paying a visit to La Coruña.

La Coruna is the largest city of Galicia and Spain's second major harbour. Of historically remote origins, the city boasts the oldest active lighthouse in the world and the DOMUS Museum of Mankind with IMAX. Santiago de Compostella is the capital of Galicia and the world’s third most important place of Christian pilgrimage after Jerusalem and Rome. From the Middle Age, pilgrims from all over Europe have flocked to Santiago through the “Saint James Route” to visit the Apostle tomb in the magnificent cathedral. This beautiful city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasts several historical monuments and has a very lively atmosphere thanks to the students of its famous university.

Galicia occupies the extreme north western corner of the Iberian peninsula and was called “Finis Terrae” - or Finisterre, by the Romans as they believed it was the end of the world. The jagged coastline is formed by a succession of profound estuaries and rocky inlets called “rias”, rich in seafood and wildlife. Galicia belongs to the “Green Spain” and enjoys a strong cultural identity. Bordered by Portugal to the south, it has its own official language, which is halfway between Spanish and Portuguese. the region also boast a rich Celtic heritage, reminiscent of the traditions to be found in Ireland, Scotland or Brittany and which is reflected in its music, with the use of “gaitas” - or bagpipes.
