THE BOAT
The boat boasts a large and luxurious saloon area, comfortable sun deck on the bow, shaded top viewing deck and covered rear deck for you comfort. Sleeping quarters below provide absolute comfort & privacy with two cabins with double bed, Pullman and ensuite. Two cabins with upper & lower bunks and "V" berth with 2 upper & 2 lower bunks. Hot water showers. Captain & Crew have separate quarters.
Complete & independently controlled sound & video system capable of playing any format : Tape's, CD, MP3, VCD, DVD, VHS (PAL & NTSC). Karaoke!!!

The Captain is Internationally qualified under the *USL Code with many years of experience at sea and the Mentawai Islands. Our Chef is a fully qualified Chef with years of experience. (read "Chef has his say"). Captain, First Mate & Chef are West Australian whilst Timotious our Indonesian Crew has 9 years experience onboard. The boat is an Australian Registered vessel in current Survey with West Australian Departement of Transport and Insured with full and comprehensive Insurance covering Liability & P & I. Only a small handfull of other vessels operating in the Mentawai's or Northern Sumatra can boast that." `. Local Survey does not account for much, it only means it floats. LOCATION
The Mentawai Islands
The Mentawai Islands are located approximately 100 miles off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia's northern most and largest island, and the port city of Padang, launching point for Mentawai surf charters. There are 4 main islands in the archipelago, with numerous smaller islands surrounding these. The recent discovery of world-class surf in the Mentawai archipelago and subsequent exposure of images of the region in international surf media has pushed the archipelago to the brink of an explosion of surfing tourism development. Foreign tourism operators in the area are, however, aware of the potential for negative impacts upon the local environment, culture, social fabric, and economy if tourism is allowed to develop unchecked. For this reason, attempts are being made from within the surfing tourism industry, as well as from local government, to manage surfing tourism development. In an effort to minimise the exploitation of this sovereign area and to build sustainable tourism, surf travel is nearly completely restricted to authorised surf charter companies.
