One of the best surfcamps of Northern Spain. "All included" formula, refurbished surfhouse, good food and the possibility to participate in shaping your own board! On the Cantabrian Cornice, at the heart of Spain’s Green Coast, Rodiles Shaping Surfcamp enjoys a beautiful location at Rodiles Beach, in the middle of the Ria de Villaviciosa estuary and nature preserve. You will surf with true locals one of the best wave in Spain, Rodiles, a barrelling rivermouth break often compared with Mundaka. Rodiles is the perfect place to (re)discover the world of surfing in a unique and true atmosphere.

The Surf Camp

This Surfcamp has been designed BY and FOR surfers. Run by local shaper, this camp offers the unique experience of participating in shaping your own board. The Surf Camp has accommodation for a maximum of ten persons in comfortable rooms with bunk beds. These are complemented by a bathroom, spacious and welcoming lounges with TV, DVD and Stereo system for leisure time. Additionally, the Surfcamp also has a music workshop fully equipped with professional musical equipment and instruments. Live shows are organised on the Terrace-Bar, as well as fiestas and barbecues a couple of times per week in season. 

Rodiles is a place to (re)discover the spirit of surf, amongst true surfers and in the pristine environment of Spain’s northern Atlantic coast.

The Surf

Rodiles Surf Camp is located in the small town of Villaviciosa, a five minute drive away from Rodiles beach and the nature preserve of Ria de Villaviciosa estuary. 

Surf Spots

A regional classic of international fame, Rodiles is a hollow barrelling rivermouth break. To the west of the beach, a sandbar gives some perfect lefts at low tide, while at high tide on the eastern side of the beach, there are further good peaks, with the rights usually betters. This is the most famous spot in Asturias and as part of a nature preserve, the water is always clean.

Surf School

Pioneer in the Principality of Asturias, the Surf School offers classes for all levels of surf. Lessons are given by qualified instructors with an official diploma of the Asturian Surf Federation. 
The full board plan includes a copious breakfast before the surf session, a picnic on the beach at lunch time and a good dinner in a typical restaurant serving Asturian specialities. Participants will have all the necessary surf gears (boards and wetsuits) at disposal during the whole stay.

Shaping Workshop

Participants will learn how to make a surfboard from scratch to finish, including all steps of fabrication, from shaping to glasing, sanding, etc. The workshop is run by shaper Rodi Ride Alvaro Fernandez, with over 20 years of experience in the business. The one week shaping course includes the same as the School and Free Surf Camp packages, plus a new surfboard in which fabrication the student will actively participate.

Formula SURF SCHOOL

This camp is aimed at complete beginners and intermediate surfers who want to improve their level.

High Season (Jul-Sep/15): 590 EUR

Formula FREE SURF

This camp is aimed at autonomous surfers who do not want to take part in classes. The Free Surf Camp includes the same as the School Surf Camp package, but without classes.

SHAPING WORKSHOP

This camp is aimed at surfers who want to learn how to make/repair a surfboard.

The Location

Asturias

The coast of Asturias is one of the most beautiful in Spain and is known as the Green Coast for the colour of the sea, the pine and eucalyptus covered coastline, and the green pastures of the mountainous interior. The area is reputed for its dairy products and its apple trees producing the famous cider. The coast is very rocky and with several bays and sounds cutting into the cliffs and creating coves and sandy beaches. A scenic backdrop to the coast, the Picos de Europa and the Cantabrian ridge form a spectacular barrier to the south which has maintained Asturias practically uncommunicated with the rest of Spain during centuries.
