The Nomad Surfcamp North of Spain

It was created in 1998 and is located in Santoña, on Cantabria’s eastern coast in between Bilbao and Santander. It is one of many vacation spots in northern Spain which is noted for its beauty and tourist possibilities.

Our Surfcamp is right beside the beach (15 metres from the sand) and overlooks one of the best point breaks there is to be had. With more than 2km of white sand and perfect beach breaks; it’s an idyllic place for the practice and learning of surfing.

English and Spanish Language Courses are offered by a certified English teacher that works all year long in Private School in London. Two hours daily of theory class. The surfcourses are also taught in English and Spanish so that the kids get used to it and learn in a relaxed and unconscious way. The courses cost 160 EUR for 8 classes of 2 hours for the 10 day camps in July and , 100 EUR for 5 classes of hours for the 7 day camos in August.

For Parents:

The boys / girls will be controlled at all times both in the surf lessons and activities extra we developed for your free time, will be controlled at all times by our monitors free time, and will always be accompanied by teachers graduates, surfing, sports and fun but with the maximum security for them.

We have 9 years of experience providing surf, and this sport is our passion, we have experienced in the didactics, our goal is that your surfcamp is an experience that never forget.

The Camp

The surf accommodation is 15 metes from the beach. Rooms have spectacular views to the sea. At night you will go to sleep listening to the waves.
We do parrallel activities like games, English courses, long sakteboarding, paddleboard, Capoeira, Barbecues, parties, etc.

Our Surf instructors have a lot of experience with minors and surfing and are all licensed by F.E.S (Federacion Española de Surf) and have travelled all over the world to transmit all possible knowledge about Surfing.

The Surf

At our school we teach surfers of all levels, it doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or an improver, we’ll help you meet your goals. We teach our students how to surf and everything about the surfing world, this way we build up your knowledge and independence so you can later surf with confidence on your own.

We teach you to understand the sea and how to recognize surf conditions (currents, formation of waves, different kinds of breaks…etc), as well as to respect your environment.

We teach you all the safety aspects and rules, so that always with total confidence you can enjoy your surfing experience to the full from the get go. Your safety is priority!

For the advanced surfers who are looking to better their surfing skills, we adjust to your level; practising turns, commentating on the different maneuvers and rectifying mistakes; refining your technique at the same time.

We separate groups by age and ability, ensuring that you’ll surf with people of a similar level.

Always under the continuous supervision and advice of the most experienced instructors. They know the beach very well and count on more than nine years experience of surfing. Our instructors are fully qualified and experts in lifesaving.

We accept bookings of 10 or 20 nights in July or 8 or 16 nights in August.

Every afternoon we have an activity prepared that may consist of video analysis of the morning session, meteorology, guided tours of the nature reserve, Yoga course or other activities like Capoira (Dance - Art Brazilian), Paint-ball ...

The Location

Our beach has become renowned for its surf; it receives waves all year round and is considered a swell-magnet beach. It’s one of the most consistent beaches in Spain as a result of its orientation to the open sea. If there’re no waves here you are unlikely to find them anywhere else on the Spanish north coast.

Our Surcamp is right beside the beach (15 metres from the sand) and overlooks one of the best point breaks there is to be had. Our beach is the backdrop for many surfing competitions, due to its long and easy waves that allow you to perform all kind of maneuvers.

The town of Santoña is a friendly and cosy place surrounded by beaches. It offers a wide range of accommodation possibilities (hotels, inns, camp sites…), and you also have santander just a stone throw away if you want to check out the beauty of this city.

There are many things to do and places to visit in Cantabria. Each day you can enjoy a different face of this infinite region, with its beaches, mountains, landscapes, towns, the food and the people. For an unforgettable holiday, it is the ideal place in a magical setting.

The Trip

Our Surfcamp is in the Beach of Santoña 53 kms from Santander and 85 kms from Bilbao.
We do Airpor transfers.

We offer transfers from Bilbao for 20 EUR per person per way.
We offer transfer from Santander for 15 EUR pr person per way.
